Prescott Arizona Rock Climbing

Prescott Arizona is well known in the climbing community.  With the Granite Dells, the Groom Creek Bouldering Area, and of course Granite Basin, the climbing offered in Prescott runs the range from introductory climbs through to expert climbing as well.

Whether your looking for an afternoon of bouldering at Groom Creek, or some fun top roping with friends in the Granite Dells, or maybe trying out a few sport routes in the Dells, or finally spending part of your day on Granite Mountain, you’ll quickly find that you’re going to need to spend a while here if your want to try everything out.

Climbs as easy as 5.6’s with easy top rope access are available throughout the Granite Dells.  In the same area you’ll find some 5.12 sport routes as well.  There’s an incredible mix of opportunities throughout the area. Whether your out learning or you’re a seasoned climber, make sure to set aside some time to try out everything the area has to offer.  And a short drive North of Prescott offers some amazing opportunities in a place known as The Promised Land.

The Granite Dells

The Granite Dells next to Watson Lake, offers some amazing climbing opportunities for visitors to the area.  There are several great guidebooks out there on Prescott Climbing, and the Dells is featured in each guide.

Recently Explore Prescott has started creating 3D models of area climbs with the latest drone and imaging technology.  Below you’ll find a functional 3D map that highlights several of the well known climbs in this area.

TimeZone Wall, Thor’s Wall, Perfect Dome, and Emerald City are all featured on this map.  The map serves as an additional reference to the area, but doesn’t mean you shouldn’t pick up the guide books.  The books offer detailed information on each area, the sport routes available, and additional information in case you need to work trad gear into some of your climbs.
